The Vienna Philharmonic announced that Yannick Nézet-Séguin will conduct the Vienna New Year's concert for the first time in 2026, following Riccardo Muti's wonderful performance in 2025. In a press release, Vienna Philharmonic Chairman Daniel Froschauer wrote, "In choosing Yannick Nézet-Séguin we seek to fulfill our goal of working more with the younger generation of conductors."
