Sokhiev Will Conduct the 2027 Vienna New Year's Concert

The Vienna Philharmonic announced that Tugan Sokhiev will lead the Vienna New Year's concert in 2027, following Yannick Nézet-Séguin's wonderful performance in 2026. It will be his first time conducting the concert.

Daniel Froschauer, chairman of the orchestra, said, "Tugan Sokhiev has been a close musical and personal friend of our orchestra since 2009. Our first performances together quickly fostered a strong sense of mutual musical trust and understanding, which since that time has continuously deepened and developed. We look forward with much anticipation to our future projects and the upcoming New Year's Concert."
